Pixel Game Graphics
Whilst at CloseComms circa 2016 we developed a QSR mobile app which we piloted with 4 major QSR retailers, fast-food to you and me. Integral to the stickiness of this app was an arcade hopper game.
The aim of the game was simple, tap the screen to keep your character alive, avoid obstacles, and collect items. I made original graphics for each version of the game.
Subway

For the Subway QSR app we called the game SubsAway, the app was piloted in a few hundred stores in the LA area.
For the collectable items we used sub ingredients that are available in every Subway store.

Burger King

For Burger King we went with a medieval theme, DragonQuest was taken so I opted for DragunRun; piloted in the New York state area.
For the collectables this time we went with items directly from the Burger King menu, aaand OK, I recycled a few parts too.

McDonald’s

McDonald’s had us travelling to space, we took the name of a popular toy and reworked it as our title. The app was piloted in Cape Town, South Africa.
We stuck with the items from the menu as the theme for the collectables, the clients seem to always liked this, no idea why 😉.

Nathan’s Famous

This one was the most fun to make but never made it to production. I recreated a scene from Coney Island’s fun fair, the origins of the Hot Dog seller, and called the game Top Dog. We never made it to pilot, thanks Covid.
Again we went with items from the Nathan’sFamous menu, but threw in a Frankster and a version of the famous belt won each year in their annual Hot-Dog eating contest.
